How to join?

Would you like to join TEH? Great! Please start by carefully studying the information below and read the documents to the right. If you want to apply to become a member, the first step of the application procedure is to download and fill out the questionnaire to the right. If you want to apply to become a Friend organisation (both organisations and individuals can become Friends) we kindly ask you to send us an email where you introduce yourself and/or your organisation. Please send the questionnaires and/or introductions to Marketing & Communication Manager Anna Weitz on anna[at]teh.net. 

Membership criteria


Trans Europe Halles members must meet the following five membership criteria:

> Independent and not-for-profit centre arising from a citizen’s initiative with a legal structure.

> Multidisciplinary artistic policy encouraging interaction between art forms, with an emphasis on comtemporary art.

> Based in user-friendly buildings preferably originating from a commercial or industrial heritage.

>  High-quality artistic programme of at least regional significance with an awareness of contemporary culture, ranging from local to international art.

>  Awareness of the social and political aspects of cultural actions with an Equal Opportunities Policy or commitment.



What is expected from members?

All members must:

> Elect a TEH Delegate at their centre 

> Respond to requests from the Coordination Office and Executive Committee

> Take an active role in the life of the network

> Be open to exchange with other members

> Involve their centre in, and inform them about TEH 

> TEH organizes two network meetings every year. All members must participate in the TEH Meetings at their own cost. 



Membership categories



Member centres


Trans Europe Halles member centres participatefully in the activities of the network and encourage reciprocity within the network. They take part in the annual European meetings, participate in decision-making at all general meetings and are involved in the network’s projects. The annual membership fee is progressive and varies between 275-1100 euros.


Friends

Organisations who do not meet the membership criteria, can join Trans Europe Halles as a friend. They will be informed of the activities and projects of the network and are welcome to participate in the general meetings. The friend membership fee is progressive and varies between 150-250 Euros per year.

Ambassadors

Individuals who are former active delegates that have contributed to the development of the network and are still engaged in the life of the network are eligible to become Ambassadors. Ambassadors are proposed by the Executive Committee and approved and elected by the General Assembly. The role of an Ambassador is to be an advocate for the network and promote its ideas and vision.
