THE LIFT HANDBOOK – Sharing Experiences of a youth exchange network project
Within the network project The Lift (2006-2008), young people who are active at different Trans Europe Halles centres were given the chance to go abroad and work at another Trans Europe Halles centre through the mobility scheme European Voluntary Service (EVS). A large number of Trans Europe Halles centres were involved in The Lift and the experiences from the project have now resulted in a handbook about networking through EVS. The aim of the handbook is to offer a tool for other organisations that would like to start similar projects in the future.
THE LIFT EVALUATION REPORT Apart from the handbook, a more extensive evaluation report of the youth exchange project The Lift has been produced by Benson Consulting (Malmö, Sweden). Click here to download the evaluation report.
Factories of the Imagination Factories of the Imagination is a book published by Trans Europe Halles in 2001. It presents several Trans Europe Halles members’ experiences of converting former industrial sites into cultural centres. Factories of the imagination reveals the history and experiences of the centres, the problems they faced over the years and solutions they created to overcome the obstacles. The purpose of the book was to create an educational tool, which gave a clearer understanding of this cultural phenomenon. It is also of value to both the public and private sectors and for everybody who seeks to engage in projects of similar nature throughout Europe. The book is available both in English and in French and can be bought from the Trans Europe Halles Coordination Office. Price: €20+shipping fee.
