The first project of TEH Media Network |
***Call for links to videos from all TEH centres!***
|
TEH Film & Media Network is made up of people and centres working with
film and media inside the TEH network. TEH TV
(www.teh.net/tv) is the first project of the network. If you would like
to join TEH Media Network, please drop an e-mail to anna@teh.net.
TEH TV is a pilot site that enables the network to organize and present
the video material produced inside the network. A simple framework is
used for compiling and presenting video clips uploaded on the Internet
by the members. The tool will always be available just a click away,
for everybody.
Plays without interruption
The content is compiled of separate YouTube videos that can be watched
back-to-back in a small frame or full screen without interruption. The
site has a search feature and all videos are tagable. This means that
members can use it to create a show reel, but it can also be used to
curate programmes which can be watched both at the site and projected
on screen as parts of exhibitions and festivals for instance.
How do we know it is working?
The idea is modeled from an existing beta version of a web-service
called YOUTV (http://www.youtv.se/). With youtv as inspiration TEH
member Subtopia has in collaboration with Trans Europe Halles and
support from the Nordic Council of Ministers developed TEH TV.
Administration & Management
During the pilot period we will not invest in programming an "admin
interface". Instead we will write the necessary code in a blog that the
website continuously takes information from. The TEH Coordination
Office (Anna Weitz) will be in charge for the TEH TV to start.
For this purpose we ask all TEH Member to send links to Youtube videos produced at
your centre or showing performances or other events at your centre. Send your links to anna@teh.net and make sure to include the following information:
- The You tube url of your video
- Name of the video
- Name of your centre
- Your website address
- Proposed tags for the video
There
will be a selection process of the submitted videos but the aim on this
first stage is to show the diversity of the network.
The beta version
of TEH TV was presented at TEH Meeting 68 in Cracow, 15-18th of October
and will be tested and evaluated until TEH Meeting 69 in May 2010,
where decisions on the next steps will be taken.
