Corfu, Greece

CulturePolis is a non-profit organisation based in Corfu, Greece, founded in 2006. It operates mainly in Europe and the Mediterranean Basin. Its main aim is to contribute – through research, analysis, debate, and dialogue, as well as targeted action in raising awareness around issues related to culture and arts, sustainability, economic and social innovation, creative economy and entrepreneurship.

The true pride of CulturePolis is The MADOUKI Art Factory, a project that aims to support performing arts by organizing training workshops and providing rehearsal and spectacle space. CulturePolis is now launching relevant activities in other two centres in the periphery of Greece (Delphi and Andros) where we plan to host incubation workshops related to artist entrepreneurship and small art residencies.

We believe that TEH is a unique network-family where we can find opportunities to exchange good practices of rehabilitation of spaces for cultural purposes via meetings, forums, P2P. Besides, it is an opportunity for the young MAF project to learn from the professionals and also pass on our knowledge and experience.

CulturePolis operating from Corfu which is on the crossroad between Greece, the Ionian & the Adriatic Sea and the Balkans, and having established strong links with partners in all neighbouring countries, could play a vital role in mobilising artists and cultural professionals of the regions to participate in joint activities with other TEH members and associates, becoming this way a regional hub.
