DOM La cupola del pilastro is a theatre situated in a suburban area of Bologna, Italy; the building a silver half-sphere home to two wooden stages, curtains, ropes, racks and chairs. It is a large, round open space dedicated to contemporary arts, and a place willing to host new art forms and audiences. The centre also employs unique types of participatory processes, an uncommon desire for listening and change of pace from typical theatre experiences.

Rich in greenery and inhabited by a community of people who embody reciprocity and common learning, the centre continually attempts to lend an ear to the needs of the community. As a result, the type of theatre DOM practises has without a doubt a strong social relationship to local issues, strongly oriented towards a poetic projects for an audience that must be both unarmed and constantly willing to listen for full understanding of its artistic strength.
