Korjaamo Culture Factory

Helsinki, Finland

The Korjaamo Culture Factory was founded on a new concept of urban space, where the creators of art and culture and their works mix and mingle with the viewing public. Since June 2008, Korjaamo has expanded and now consists of two large spaces called Korjaamohalli (Korjaamo Hall) and Vaunuhalli (Streetcar Hall), both originally tram depots. Following this expansion Korjaamo is now the leading culture center in Finland, hosting a bar, café, garden, three gallery spaces, a shop and two event spaces – Kulmasali (Corner Room) and Vaunusali (Streetcar Room) for theatre performances, clubs and concerts.

Korjaamo is additionally present in Vaunuhalli Tram Museum, a part of Helsinki City Museum. Combined, these spaces and happenings contribute to an innovative, energetic community in a centre of urban culture, mixing contemporary European and Finnish culture. Korjaamo is also home to Image Match, company within Korjaamo Group and also has an office hotel for smaller companies working in the culture field.
