Belgrade, Serbia

Magacin (MKM) re-purposed a former publishing company’s warehouse into a cultural centre of 1000 m2, consisting of several premises in the historical town centre of Belgrade. Since 2007, Magacin has worked as a cultural centre of the non-institutional production in the field of culture and contemporary art and has held a significant role within the independent cultural scene.

Since the beginning of 2015, the space of MKM has been maintained by the organisations that work there. Magacin brought a large number of civil society initiated organisations together under its roof.  Sixty organisations and individuals are using this space, and approximately three events per day take place in Magacin. They share co-working spaces, meeting rooms, an exhibition hall, a concert hall, and a cinema in Magacin premises.
