The B92 cultural centre, REX, is a laboratory for research in new fields of culture. REX was founded under the name of Cinema REX in 1994 and the centre researches both new artistic fields and produces projects in contemporary theatre/dance, visual arts, music, film, video and other media forms. REX also organises workshops and discussion forums and is actively involved in social and political issues, providing possibilities for local citizens to gather which local official institutions have not wanted or have not been able to offer previously. REX fights against cultural elitism, and has developed a network of intensive co-operation with colleagues throughout ex-Yugoslavia.
