Roca Umbert Fabrica de les Arts

Barcelona, Spain

Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts (RUFA) is a cultural space that is constantly undergoing a transformation, at the service of creative processes, artistic training, and dialogue between the arts.

It is a unique space where literature, music, popular culture, visual arts, the cultural and creative industry, thought, heritage and technology combine and intersect to experiment in all fields of contemporary creation, for be shared between creators and citizens.

The project, promoted by the City Council of Granollers, starts with the transformation and rehabilitation of an old textile factory of more than 20,000 m2, which ceased its activity in 1991.

Being part of a large network such as Trans Europe Halles is an opportunity for RUFA to grow as a project by learning more about similar proposals with different contexts, which provides new points of view; to have face-to-face meetings and participate in workshops that could enrich the project with new ideas that will be incorporated into future planning.
