Zo Centro Culture Contemporanee

Catania, Italy

Zo Centro Culture Contemporanee, situated in an ex-sulphur refinery, is part of a group of factories dating back to the last century. According to an agreement with the Catania Town Council (owner of the building), the cultural centre is managed by Zo Associazione Culturale, composed by local cultural operators.

During the year (October-June), Zo is programming and producing cultural events (theatre and dance performances, concerts, cinema projections, festivals), giving particular attention to the education and the social innovation.

Zo Centro culture Contemporanee is a space which is continuously changing, born to organise multidisciplinary events.  Zo is not a theatre, nor a concert hall, a dance studio, a cinema, or an auditorium, it’s all in one which makes it unique on the territory. Zo was the first and is still one of the few multidisciplinary and independent cultural centres in the South of Italy which is a great pride but at the same time an everyday fight.
