TEH Meeting 81. WUK, Vienna, Austria. May 2016

Theme: It’s (about) politics. The meeting investigated what it means to be “political”. How do we act? How can we act – as individuals, as collectives, as institutions? TEH Camp Meeting 80. Bakelit M.A.C., Budapest, Hungary. November 2015

Theme: TEH Camp Meeting 80 experimented with a new meeting format aiming at providing time and space for TEH Members to present and develop common projects. In total 12 projects were presented during the meeting:  1) How To Participate in Cultural Leadership. 2) Educational Programmes in TEH Centers. 3) MP3 – Open Platform for Promotion. 4) Indecision in Organising Cultural Centres. 5) Incubators United. 6) European Values Revisited. 7) TEH Academy: Online Learning Platform. 8) TEH Consulting. 9) Europe Grand Central. 10) Staff Exchange Programme. 11) Mentorship Programme. 12) European Voluntary Service. TEH Meeting 79. Manifatture Knos, Lecce, Italy. May 2015

Theme: Spaces of Indecision. During TEH Meeting 79 two hundred participants from 25 countries explored together the limits of “indecision” and were introduced to concepts such as Third Landscape and the Planetary Garden by the French garden designer, botanist, and writer Gilles Clément. TEH Meeting 78. JOHAN Centrum, Pilsen, Czech Republic. October 2014

Theme: Cooperation, not competition. Until not long ago, JOHAN Centrum was one of the few independent cultural initiatives in Pilsen. Thanks to the designation of the city as the European Capital of Culture 2015, more and more civil society organisations operating in the cultural field emerged. Cooperation among these organization and with the public institutions has been one of the keys to cultural development of the city. Download the Meeting Report. See the photos.

TEH Meeting 77. Melkweg and P60, Amterdam and Amstelveen, Netherlands. April 2014

Theme: The Future Is Not What it Used To Be. For the first time, a TEH meeting and a TEH inspirational conference took place at the same time under the title “The Future Is Not What it Used To Be”. The programme of this three-day, interdisciplinary working conference on new culture strategies offered thought-provoking keynotes, hands-on workshops and a very complete artistic program. The Conference was the closing event of the 3 year project Engine Room Europe and it gathered around 350 cultural professionals from 29 countries. Website of the Conference and Meeting. TEH Meeting 76. La Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille, France. November 2013

Theme: The Power of Culture in Social Change. Twenty-five artists and cultural operators from North Africa and the Middle East were invited to give inspirational examples of how they work in independent culture. The programme included 2 discussion panels, feedback on the proposed TEH Network plan and the Mentorship programme, TEH Action lab, The Resource production lab, TEH talkshow, speed dating, TEH General and TEH 30 years anniversary celebration! TEH Meeting 75. Culture and Arts projects NOASS, Riga, Latvia. May 2013

Theme: Working with Art. Exploring creative processes through collaborative artpieces and workshops powered by ERE on creative methodologies. The programme also included Working the net, Tinderbox goes Art, TEH talkshow, TEH General Assembly, Road Map to the Future and a Sunday Outing to Splive Airport. Download the Meeting Report. TEH Meeting 74. Röda Sten Konsthall and Konstepidemin, Gothenburg, Sweden. September 2012

Theme: Bottom Up! Independent Culture and its Impact on Politics and Society. The biggest TEH Meeting to date! The programme included a keynote speech, panel discussion, workshops, artistic interventions, Working the Net, a Sunday outing to Not Quite, TEH General Assembly & Plenary Session and the new project development session TEH Tinderbox. Download the Meeting Report. TEH Meeting 73. Tabačka Kulturfabrik, Košice, Slovakia. May 2012

Theme: Overcoming Borders to Independent Cultural Development. There was an Open Space day powered by Engine Room Europe, a panel debate and seminar on Crossing the Schengen Border, a Crossing Schengen network meeting and a Wall of Borders, where participants posted images of their personal borders to overcome. Download the Meeting Report. TEH Meeting 72. TNT, Bordeaux, France. October 2011

Theme: Neighbourhood/Voisinage. The meeting included a Neighbourhood Day showcasing projects by local artists. There was an Engine Room Europe Training Day with workshops, Spanish night, and a Sunday excursion to the beach of Arcachon. Download the Meeting Report. See the photos.

TEH Meeting 71. Creative Center Carnation, Tartu, Estonia. April 2011

Theme: Shifting Gears. TEH’s network project ENGINE ROOM EUROPE was introduced. The meeting also included an “Under the Hood” workshop day, a Pecha Kucha night, and visits to Tartu Centre for Creative Industries and Culture Factory Polymer in Tallinn. Download the Meeting Report. See the photos.

TEH Meeting 70. Moritzbastei, Leipzig, Germany. September 2010

Theme: Arts. Culture. Business. A CHANGING ROOM Training Day with workshops on Finance, Bar Management, Sustainable Cultural Centres and Stress Management was held. Visits to cultural centres and initiatives in Leipzig. TEH passed 50 Members! Download the Meeting Report. See the photos.

Theme: Broadening Activities. The meeting included a CHANGING ROOM presentation and discussion. There was a Training Day with workshops on sustainability, recruitment and activity expansion. TEH’s Network Plan for 2011-2013 was approved. Download the Meeting Report

Theme: Revitalization. Discussions about the relationship between culture, cultural centers and their local communities. There was a CHANGING ROOM training day with workshops. TEH Meeting 66. Tou Scene, Stavanger, Norway. September 2008

Theme: TEH Stavanger Training – cultural management training and consultancy services. The main focus, however, was Stavanger as Capital of Culture. TEH Meeting 64. Korjaamo and Verkatehdas, Helsinki and Hämeenlinna, Finland. October 2007

Theme: The typology of cultural centres. Five main types of centre were discerned and described. Workshops were held on areas such as co-operation with companies, bar & catering, real estate, and writing grant applications. Download the Meeting Report

TEH Meeting 63. Arts Printing House, Vilnius, Lithuania. May 2007

Theme: The conference ”Exploring Territories” was held on cultural politics in Lithuania and surrounding countries with a roundtable discussion about case studies in the region. Various workgroups discussed topics such as support for emerging artists and joint projects within the TEH network. Download the Meeting Report

Theme: Cultural sustainability, sponsorship and the new ”creative economy”. The meeting coincided with the Berlin Conference for European Cultural Policy, which is also discussed in the report. Download the Meeting Report

TEH Meeting 57. Mejeriet, Lund, Sweden. May 2004

Theme: Development in terms of digital technology. There was a Wiki seminar and a presentation of P60’s work with Global stage. Possible new digital network projects were discussed and a digital working group was formed. Furthermore, a discussion about funding, public subsidies and sponsorship was held as well as a talk about professional development and summer workshop camps. Download the Meeting Report
