GLOBAL REPORT ON CULTURE FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT
In 2016 UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, released the UNESCO Global Report on Culture for Sustainable Urban Development. The report presents a series of analyses and recommendations for fostering the role of culture for sustainable development.
The report is built on a global survey that was implemented with the collaboration of nine regional partners and insights from scholars, NGOs and urban thinkers. The report emphasizes the crucial issues globally surrounding urban heritage safeguarding, conservation and management, as well as the promotion of cultural and creative industries, highlighting their role as resources for sustainable urban development.
