Moving in, Moving on: TEH Startup Support Programme Publication #1 featuring Communitism in Athens

TEH Startup Support Programme provides strategic consultancy and training for selected emerging non-governmental cultural centres. The beneficiary region in 2017-2018 was the Balkans. Three centres from the region participated in the programme.

Please, download here the first start-up publication featuring Communitism.

Communitism is an Athens-based cultural centre. It aims to revive abandoned cultural heritage buildings in the city through the collaboration and motivation of existing community structures. One of the challenges of the organisation was to communicate its vision and mission to the employees and volunteers; to potential stakeholders and building owners.

You can find here our report done by TEH advisor Chris Keulemans on the centre, its activities and ambitions. Through their story, you will see how they started out with a clear vision that they translated into a manifesto that explains why they exist and how they work.

The manifesto was created during a three-day organisational development workshop guided by Gabriella Riccio of l’Asilo in Napoli, facilitated by the TEH Startup Support Programme. The result is an exemplary manifesto document, that you can find alongside the workshop report. We hope it can work as a source of inspiration for other startups, now and in the future.

If you are interested to learn more about the benefits of the programme and the impressions of the participants, please Communitism start up programme evaluation.

The Startup Support Programme is part of the project Factories of Imagination, which is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
