Asociația ARTA în dialog (Cinema ARTA)
ARTA is one of the oldest cinemas from Romania that since 1913 still keeps its function today. It is a cultural hub, focusing on audio-visual content, a catalyst for the independent and creative sector.
ARTA is a place where high quality events are promoted, and also a significant place for the community, where people of different age and background come together in an environment that fosters communication, listening and understanding. The centre aims to create cultural experiences that unite, inspire and become meaningful for those attending the events. The programme is developed on the following directions:
- The core programme is dedicated to contemporary audio-visual content, consisting of art-house films, independent films, documentaries.
- The curated programme is focusing on various thematic strands, going beyond film screenings into multidisciplinary events such as concerts, exhibitions, workshops, conferences.
- Educational and young audience programs are as well a significant part of our project, with the mission of creating a safe space for the young audience where they can learn, be inspired and express themselves.
The mission is to promote cultural values, tolerance and diversity, through the showcase and interaction between various forms of art, and also between people. Believing in the impact of culture on the societal and urban development, the centre creates a multidisciplinary platform, which would contribute to the cultural and social life of the city.
What makes the organisation unique?
ARTA is the first independent repurposed cinema in the coutry, which is no longer a regular cinema, but a significant cultural hub for the community. The cultural program is also complementary to what already exists in the city.
