La Station/ Collectif MU

Festive and convivial place, a social laboratory dedicated to emerging artistic scenes and its margins

In 2016, Collectif MU, an association based in Paris 18, opens the doors of La Station – Gare des Mines, a disused coal station at the Porte d’Aubervilliers built in the 1950s. In a rapid and spontaneous way, La Station has organized itself by bringing together a constellation of initiatives, artists, collectives and associations. Since its opening, La Station – Gare des Mines welcomes a plural artistic scene within the same place: concerts, club nights, exhibitions, workshops, projections… La Station – Gare des Mines is a festive place and an art laboratory dedicated to emerging scenes.

In 2021, La Station – Gare des Mines expands with Station Nord, new outdoor and indoor large spaces that increase the audience size for music events (720 people) and offer a better visibility to artistic, solidarity and convivial activities like “Air de Repos”, a garden hosting a refugees day-care center and a restaurant open to workers of the area. The Station – Gare des Mines is run by the Collectif MU, an artistic production office created in 2002 by 2 producers from the Fresnoy art school and specialized in the fields of sound art, music and new media.
