Studio ALTA
Creative hub
Studio ALTA is a unique cultural space in Prague, Czech Republic. It connects dance, theatre and other forms of art to the local community and citizens’ activities. Established in a former storage area, it provides space for production, presentation and artists’ further education. There are also co-working spaces, shared studios and rehearsal rooms.
In Studio ALTA, a genuinely open theatre space has been created – one that is not influenced by one single artistic person but is a basis for collaboration with a number of outstanding ensembles and individuals from the field of contemporary theatre.
Alongside the theatre and rehearsal spaces, ALT@RT runs also an informal coffee bar, initiates various social activities and supervises other NGO projects that take place within the cultural space.
What makes the organisation unique?
Non-hierarchical leadership: all decisions are made collectively. They offer the possibility for artistic research without the need to create a presentable project.
