Vaartopia Leuven

Vaartopia Leuven is a large-scale urban renewal project that aims to regenerate more than 30 hectares of the old industrial neighbourhood of the former Stella Artois brewery in Leuven in Belgium into a vibrant and creative area. The intention is to give designers, start-ups, artists, production houses, cultural associations and artisans more physical and affordable space.

The key art and creative organisations at Vaartopia at this moment include OPEK – an independent and vibrant arts centre; Cas-Co – ateliers for upcoming artists; and De Hoorn – a creative hub.

What makes the organisation unique?

The City of Leuven, AGSL, owners and users (companies, residents) of the Vaartkom are working together on a new urban dynamic to grow into a cultural and creative city with an international appeal.
