Straw together
We make a big straw crown together, in Sweden called ”oro” (worry in English).
Oro is a kind of hanging decorative object made of rye straw.
By threading thread through the hollow straw, and then tying the threads together, the straws are put together into various shapes. These are then put together into complex structures, and in this way the oro grows out of different geometric shapes.
Making a worry out of straw was traditionally done before parties and gatherings. In the past, it was said that the oro, when it moved in the wind, ensnared the spirits.
