Slovakia’s cultural sector is facing a severe threat as the current government enforces authoritarian measures that undermine artistic freedom and centralize power.

As a network dedicated to supporting grassroots initiatives, Trans Europe Halles is issuing this statement to highlight the impact of such actions on the entire cultural community.

With Trans Europe Halles 5 full members and 2 associate members in Slovakia, we believe that these developments affect us all, underscoring the need for solidarity and collective action to defend cultural freedom across Europe.
