Operating since 2011 FIX in Art is a cultural no-profit, community led, creative hub, located in Thessaloniki’s landmark building, the old FIX brewery, providing a welcoming home for creative adventures and human connection. FIX in Art’s goal is to enhance, support and promote artistic expression, to offer opportunities for learning and exchange ideas, to connect artists and culture professionals locally and internationally, and to create unique experiences for audiences.

The building: Located 5min drive from Thessaloniki’s city center, FIX is a historic complex of warehouses, originally build in 1888. It operated for many years a s a brewery, now part of it is being used by FIX in Art as a culture space.

The space: A multi-venue offering rehearsal spaces and a large theatre venue suitable for performances and workshops, spaces for exhibitions, a library, a clothes exchange shop, and a community kitchen.

What makes the organisation unique?

FIX in Art is a social creative cultural hub, that is a social experiment of horizontal governance at the same time. What makes them unique is how they are combining different topics, we have a fluid framework, based on the needs of our surroundings, we don't practice art for the sake of art, but art and creativity for social change.

They believe that creativity and access to art and holistic education is a human right and not a luxury. The centre practices inclusion in every aspect of our programming and within our coliving community. They learn via their mistakes, and errors, (and they make a lot of those ) , and they hold space for people that wish to join our initiative, sharing knowledge, energy and resources.
