E-Course: Air Ventilation

What is this E-Course about?

This e-course focuses on air ventilation in indoor environments like offices and homes, exploring how different ventilation strategies can improve indoor air quality. It also discusses the importance of ventilation for human health and introduces heat recovery systems in ventilation.

Who is the lecturer?

Manuel Martínez del Álamo.

Manuel is the head of the Environmental Modelling and Simulation research line at Eurecat, Centre Tecnològic de Catalunya, and an assistant professor at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), Tarragona. He holds a PhD in Chemical, Process and Environmental Engineering from the URV (2011), specialized in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), a master’s degree in Chemical and Process Engineering (2007) and a Chemical Engineering degree (2004) from the same university.

He has participated in more than 80 technology transfer projects in different roles, from researcher to principal investigator. His main research interests include computational fluid dynamics, numerical modelling of multiphase flows, pollutant dispersion, indoor air quality, water distribution networks and chemical process simulation among others.

E-course background

The course has been implemented as part of #RTL or Rebuilding to Last initiative, one of the biggest for Trans Europe Halles. Rebuilding to Last strives to inspire independent cultural centres to revisit their relationship with nature, with their communities and spaces within their walls, in their courtyards and beyond.
